I led the adoption of Government Digital Service (GDS) standards in the Royal Navy, improving digital service design and delivery through robust assessments and research.

What I did

Discovery leadership

Led a comprehensive discovery process to explore how the Royal Navy assures digital services, with the goal of improving consistency and effectiveness in service design and delivery.

Service standard assessment

I was appointed to conduct service assessments alongside a service designer. These assessments were carried out on digital services at various stages of design, using the GDS service standard as a benchmark.

Discovery checkpoint service

Implemented a discovery checkpoint service to guide new teams through the discovery process. This involved:

  • Initial consultations with newly formed teams

  • Steering teams towards best practices in discovery

  • Conducting midpoint reviews

  • Performing final checks at the end of the discovery phase
